Genesis 4.16-17
So Cain left the Lord’s presence and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden…Then Cain founded a city, which he named Enoch, after his son.

Matthew 5.14 NLT
You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

Jeremiah 29.7 NLT
And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.

Elevate Church is dedicated to:

LOVE our city to LIFE

Which of the three qualities discussed in the talk today stands out the most? Why?

How does the understanding “essentials” and “non-essentials” change the your idea of healthy spirituality?

What can you do this week to love your city more?

Next Steps:

  • Ready to begin serving? Mark “Volunteering” on your 411 card    and someone will contact you this week to get started.
  • Need to catch a heart for your city? Listen and reflect on the song “Give me your Eyes” by Brandon Heath.
  • Take some time this week to specifically pray for your city and ask God to show you how you can work for its peace and prosperity.

For spiritual growth, read the verses and answer the questions above.

Just wanted to share something I read before attending the service this morning…

“The breaking down of denominational barriers starts with people like you and me praying together for unity in the body of Christ. And we must also reach out to touch others in different denominations. We can pray that church leaders and pastors will bring people of every denomination in a city together to pray. When that occurs, walls will come down, unity will rise, and powerful things will happen.”

I love our city and will pray for it. Thanks for opening our eyes this morning. Looking forward the rest of the series too.
