Seizing Opportunities
Speaker: Aaron Davis

(listen online here)

Colossians 4.5 NIV
…make the most of every opportunity.

Colossians 4.2 NIV
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

James 2.17 NIV
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Seizing opportunities God’s way requires:

PRAYER,   TIMING,   ACTION

What opportunities have you seized in your own life? Are there any opportunities you wish you had seized?

What is the difference between “survival mode” and “prayer mode”?

What potential problems are you currently facing that might be opportunities in disguise?

Next Steps:

  • Begin each day this week by praying the words of Psalm 5.3. Make a list  of the things you are prayerfully expecting God to do.
  • Need to be reminded of what it means to have the courage of a Lion Chaser? Each day this week read the Lion Chaser Manifesto bookmark.
  • Coordinate your summer reading with our summer series. Pick up a copy of “In a Pit with a Lion” by Mark Batterson at the Welcome Center, today.

For spiritual growth, read the verses and answer the questions above.
