2 Corinthians 5.7 NIV
We live by faith, not by sight.
Hebrews 11.6 NLT
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Isaiah 26.3 NLT
When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?” Daniel answered, ”O king, live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of
the lions.
Taking risks requires FAITH in God’s character
and ACTION towards God’s purpose.
How would you define “faith”?
Name someone from the Bible who has taken risky actions. How did God enter the equation and bring about victory?
What is tempting about living life defensively? What areas of your life do you need to live more offensively?
Next Steps:
- A precondition to taking God-sized risks is knowing God’s purposes. Spend time this week asking God if there are any risks He wants you to take.
- Need to be reminded of what it means to have the courage of a Lion Chaser? Each day this week read the Lion Chaser Manifesto bookmark.
- Coordinate your summer reading with our summer series. Pick up a copy of “In a Pit with a Lion” by Mark Batterson at the Welcome Center, today.
For spiritual growth, read the verses and answer the questions above.
