Monday Morning Run Down
What a great weekend!Congrats to all the dad’s out there – we celebrate you showing the father heart of God to your family!
Friday was Addison’s birthday & Sunday was my birthday and Father’s Day – Friday night we went out with friends to celebrate my birthday and Saturday we had family over to open gifts and sing Happy Birthday to Addison & I – loved every minute of it!
I really enjoyed services at Elevate this weekend. If everyone who attended had even half the experience I did, then it was good.
Chad Fisher was our guest worship leader this weekend and did a great job. Chad is headed to Columbus Ohio to plant Rock City Church and we look forward to seeing them reach that city in the years to come.
Addison’s 3rd birthday was a day of firsts for him: we took him to see his first ever movie (Toy Story 3) and he lasted a full hour in the theater! That night Addy had his first sleep over at his cousins Ally & Jacob’s house.
I’ve had the privilege of talking to quite a few people at Elevate recently and I gotta say something: You guys rock!! Seriously I love the people at our church. Such an honor to pastor you guys.
Listen to the weekend’s talk from our summer series OVERCOMING ADVERSITY online at your convenience this week.
Sunday my family ordered food in, hung out around the house, watched the US Open and even took a brief nap while Landon slept on my lap. I love Father’s Day!
Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes. From facebook to cards, emails to hugs & handshakes – I felt appreciated and celebrated so thanks!
Great sports going on right now: Lakers just won the NBA title, golf’s US Open was fun to watch, Wimbleton Tennis Championship begins this week and the World Cup of Football (Soccer) is a wonderful global event.
What I’m learning/being reminded of right now from God: there is a fine line in having faith in faith and having faith in God – only the latter will produce godly fruit; the sacrifice we make is NOT what brings good results – God brings results, the sacrifice we are wiling to make purifies our hearts in order to handle the good results God wants to bring; the more you pursue a God inspired goal/vision, the more important it is to acknowledge the sovereignty of God in that matter
Have a great week!
