Chasing Your Fears
Last weekend our community pastor Ryan Throop shared the second lion chasing skill as part of our summer series “Chase the Lion.” We know that God has “not given us a spirit of fear” but sometimes our life (even as a follower of Christ) can be filled with it.
When Benaiah came face to face with a wild lion, he experienced absolute fear and terror. But what sets him apart is that he didn’t run away- he chased his fear down.
Lion chasers replace their fear with faith
There are two ways to begin doing this in your life:
1. Renew Your Mind: Sometimes fears and failures keep us from acting in faith and experiencing everything God has for us. We must be intentional about reconditioning and even unlearning some things that have held us back or even crippled us. What is the mental lion you’re facing? (Read Romans 12.2)
2. Rely on God’s Love: God’s love and grace is far more powerful than any failure or mistake. It’s that same love that turns final mistakes into single mistakes. His love never runs out and will never let go. What is keeping you from experiencing God’s love? (Read 1 John 4.18)

Great job delivering the talk this past week Ryan!
