Chase the Lion (4 of 7)
Embracing Uncertainties
Speaker: Adam Davis
Ecclesiastes 11.4 NLT
Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.
Proverbs 3.5 NLT
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Isaiah 26.3 NLT
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Faith isn’t about REDUCING circumstantial uncertainty it’s about EMBRACING it.
What uncertainties are you currently facing? How do you tend to react to those uncertainties?
God doesn’t promise perfect conditions or information, but what does He promise if we keep our mind on Him (Isaiah 26.3)?
If your life to this point were a balance-beam routine, what would God, the judge of the universe, say to you about it?
Next Steps:
- Do you need wisdom in a decision or direction? Read James 1.5-6 and then pray and ask God for wisdom.
- Need to be reminded of what it means to have the courage of a Lion Chaser? Each day this week read the Lion Chaser Manifesto bookmark.
- Coordinate your summer reading with our summer series. Pick up a copy of “In a Pit with a Lion” by Mark Batterson at the Welcome Center, today.
