Jesus Loves the Skeptic

Speaker: Adam Davis (listen online here)

John 20.25 NLT
They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”

Mark 9.23-24 NLT
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

Matthew 5.6 NKJV
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

Jesus’ Love > Your doubts

Can you relate to Thomas and his doubts? Explain.

We all experience doubt at some level. What area do you struggle  through the most when it comes to trusting God?

What are some ways to build bridges to those who are suspect of God?

Next Steps:

  • Identify an area of faith you find difficult to live out. Make Mark 9.24 your prayer this week.
  • Increase your God-Knowledge: check out Pastor Adam’s blog this Wednesday for rational evidence on the resurrection of Christ.
  • Enlarge your circle of influence. Where can you venture to reach others with your story?

What’s your story? Stories carry such an enormous power to them. I’ve heard it said that we should be able to tell our God-story in 60-seconds. We never know who we may come in contact with; When we share what God has and is doing in our lives, others around us are impacted. The story you have may have the potential to change the life of someone who has been skeptic.
