Part three

Speaker: Adam Davis (listen online here)

Proverbs 18.21a NKJV
Death and life are in the power of the tongue…

Hebrews 11.3 The Message
By faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see created by what we don’t see.

Mark 11.22-24 NKJV
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

What we say has the power to move mountains.

What does it mean to you that our words can bring either “life or death?”

Which type of words most characterize your speech: faith filled words or words of defeat?

Have a mountain in your life that needs moving? What promise from God can you begin to speak into it?

Next Steps:

  • Need a heart of faith? Reflect on the words of God in Ezekiel 36.26-28.
  • Help pass the blessing on to future generations. Choose a Sunday next month to volunteer in Elevate Kids. Mark “volunteering” on your 411.
  • Resource: “Promises from God’s Word.” Reference many Scriptures to help you claim God’s promise in a variety of areas.

Read the verses, answer the questions above,

and take with you to your eleven32 small group.

What a great close to our “Say!” series on the power of our words. When Jesus gave this sermon on the power of our words he really meant what he said. The touch questions is… “Do we believe it?” I find myself giving so many qualifications and excuses to Jesus’ statement.

The truth is, to live the victory we’ve already been given, we must have both the right heart and speak the words that carry the power of Christ.
