Not making it difficult

At some point, you have to decide what you’re going to do about Jesus…As people turn to God, there’s some things that are really attractive for them:

mercy – we don’t get what our sin deserves
grace – we get the benefits we don’t deserve
forgiveness – release from all guilt
love – God’s affection toward us

I mean who wouldn’t want all that, right? And Jesus showed us all these elements of God’s nature. But Jesus told us people would get mixed up and even a bit crazy when it comes to Him and the cross:

Jesus was known as the: “The stone which the builders rejected”

Th cross was considered: “foolishness to the Greeks, a stumbling block to the Jews”

So there’s all these beautiful things God offers and for reasons maybe only He knows, He makes these things available through a rejected King who was crucified on a cross. And to top it off, we access these incredible things by our response of faith in Jesus and repentance of our sins. Jesus got that people would have to wrestle through these concepts and even understood that some might not be able to work through it so easily.

Elevate is dedicated to being a church that doesn’t “make it difficult for those turning to God” (Acts 15.19) – in other words, we refuse to add obstacles other than what God has already put before us, which makes Elevate a great place to explore faith- to work through these concepts while experiencing God’s radical grace and taking your net step toward God.

But we’ll remind you often that at some point on your journey, you’ll have to make a decision about Jesus and His cross and we’re here to help you do that without adding extra burdens to that process.
