Doing God’s work God’s way
A few tips from 40+ years of ministry & leadership from Charles Swindoll (at Catalyst 2009)…1) It’s lonely to lead (there are some decisions you have to make & places you have to go by yourself)
2) It’s dangerous to succeed (the young & very capable
3) It’s hardest at home (all the spiritual pressure with none of the applause)
4) It’s essential to be real (be who you is)
5) It’s painful to obey (giving up your way for the cross)
6) Brokenness & failure are necessary for leadership (increase your threshold for pain)
7) My attitude is more important than my actions (bad attitudes overshadow good actions)
integrity eclipses image (in an image-driven world it’s important to remember that integrity is what counts)
9) God’s way is always better than my way (the problem is we’re just too capable)
10) Christlike-ness begins & ends with humility (only place Jesus is described in Gospels: “I am meek & humble of heart”)
