What Season is This?

Speaker: Adam Davis (listen online here)

Colossians 1.19 NLT
For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ.
Matthew 12.18-22 NLT
He will not fight or shout or raise his voice in public. He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally he will cause justice to be victorious.
Ephesians 1.23 MSG
The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.
This is the season to:
SEE Jesus in all things.
SHOW Jesus in all things.

What does it mean that Jesus is both powerful and gentle?

What elements of Christmas have made it difficult for you to see Jesus throughout this season?

Describe a moment in your life where you’ve found yourself in awe of God’s majesty.

Next Steps:

  • Walk through the Christmas story: Read Luke 1.26-38
  • Spend some time this week to intentionally remove yourself from the stress of the season to reflect on the person of Jesus.
  • Help the people of Honduras see Jesus by considering how much to give, beyond your regular giving, toward the “Big Give” project.
For spiritual growth, read the verses and answer the questions above.

What a great start to this Christmas series! Loved the way Pastor explained how great and big God is and put all that fullness into a baby and that changed the world forever. When you push the surface stuff away and move into the deeper waters you realize how big God is and how awesome it is that we are included in His plan! Looking forward to next week

I am striving to see Jesus and show Jesus in all things this season and let it be a jump starter to the way 2010 and the years beyond are lived. This week was a fantastic breakdown to the base if this season and what it means.
