Monday Morning Reflections
Some thoughts from the weekend:
Ryan Minton & Kristin Kaseman did an awesome job with God of this City song at the end of service yesterday – was an inspirational moment for so many of us.
Stacy, my sister-in-law, had us over for dinner yesterday – had a good time getting to know some of the families of Elevate and the food was terrific.
Had a thought this weekend- in December we had 25 people at one of our Preview services – yesterday we had more people than that volunteering to make Elevate happen – and just one year ago, we were 11 adults meeting in my living room. God is awesome!
I love having our church office right in the heart of downtown, there’s always activity – lawyers on their way to court, people in & out of the bank, street front shops doing business, the meter maid doing her rounds – love it- except when the meter maid spends too much time looking my car over!
Was at CedarCreek’s Toledo campus last night for baptism service – saw 40 people take the plunge & it was beautiful! Campus pastor Mark Benard is a great guy and Jason Smithers is sick on the electric guitar – great peeps at the Creek!
Just wrapped up our 8th week into planting Elevate – yesterday I had at least 3 families come up and say “Elevate is my home church now” – amazing that God is working in our midst – such a privilege to get to do what I do.
Lakers pulled off the big win yesterday and the Celtics didn’t!
Yesterday’s talk in summary: Elevate Church seeks to give a fresh expression to the ancient Christian faith – how will this generation thrust the faith forward while still being true to what has come before? Our answer so far: Identity – Community – Mission.
Today one of Elevate’s own, Katie Mullins, is headed to jolly ol’ England for a couple weeks – when you remember, say a flash prayer for her.
Last I heard, we already have about 10-12 people interested in getting baptized on June 7th at Elevate – that absolutely rocks!
Wonder what God will do in our lives this week…
