I think that at times we get focused on our own selfish desires and get blinded by what God is really doing in our lives. It is the realization of putting God first and trusting Him through faith that He begins to work through the promises that He has for us and give us the desires of our heart. Hebrews 6:12 says it best when it reminds us that God's promises will be inherited by those of faith and patience. It is sometimes hard to understand that it is not our timing, but His. We need to just continuing pursuing Him in order to see the greater things!

I think this series had a great set up from the last series about the cages. One thing that I saw was that if you combine both series, (Cages, and Greater Things) you can notice a life journey that we all must take at some point. When you meet Jesus there will always be some kind of exposure. The cages talked all about that exposure and gives us a challenge to move out of the cage to experience the greater things God has for us. Once we are exposed we have a decision to make to move towards those greater things which the process builds hope and faith.
So I saw a life process between these two series:
Meet Jesus -- Challenge -- Decision -- Greater Things

And this isn't a one time thing. Jesus is constantly bringing us into new levels of Challenges but the good news is those challenges bring us into Greater Things. Faith continues to build in this process which gives us the strength to continue to make the decision to move towards Greater Things.

Okay, so God promises that there will be greater things for those that trust in Him. I mean, God PROMISES us there will be greater things! I'm having to repeat this phrase several times in order to allow it to sink. The Elevate team is full of people who have taken leaps of faith, without seeing the bottom, trusting in God's promise of greater things. Our pastors are great examples of guys who have done just that.

My family has begun a series of leaps to get us to Elevate and continue to trust that God has great things for Elevate (and we've already been seeing a sneak peak at the great things God has in store).

When taking those leaps of faith, we have the promise of Great Things. Philippians 1:6 is a great verse... "And I am CERTAIN that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished..."
