Monday Morning refelctions

Our first ever Easter at Elevate was a good one. Great response from all those that attended.

The Elevate Band did a great job yesterday leading us into worship. Kristin & Ryan’s acoustic version of Bleeding Love set to a video montage of Jesus’ life really touched people. The video made by our own Justin Ruess can be viewed here set to the same song by Boyce’s Road.

My little buddy Addison, slept in his “big boy” bed last night for the first time. They grow up so fast!

What a great finish to the Masters Golf Tournament yesterday – coming down to the wire and ending in a three way playoff for the championship was exciting to watch.

Amazing to think about all that Jesus did for us on the cross.

Three weeks into launching Elevate and we’re averaging about 250 in attendance. Our goal was to average 125+ so by God’s grace we’re doubling our projections.

Our eleven32 small groups kick off next week and are starting to fill up. If you need more info or want to sign up email Ryan at rthroop@elevate-church.com

Our good friends at CedarCreek had an amazing weekend with over 15,000 people attending their 8 services and more than 1,300 making decisions to follow Christ. That kind of stuff never gets old!!

I love celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. I enjoyed the day with my family, friends and church.

How was your Easter Sunday?

Had a great time with the little tikes in Elevate Kids yesterday. Sorry to have missed the Bleeding Love song from Ryan and Kristin but thoroughly enjoyed watching the video – great job Justin! I think I may be ready to watch Passion of the Christ again for a fresh perspective.
Oh, and I was thrilled about Addison sleeping in his big boy bed – I’m gonna try him again for a nap right now.

I would agree… yesterday was am amazing first Easter weekend at Elevate. The last 3 weeks at Elevate have been a great start to what God is up to here in Monroe.

This morning, I was reading in Nehemiah, just after the wall had been built. The people that were a part of this historic event were excited beyond words. In 12:43, he says, “many sacrifices were offered on that joyous day, for God had given the people cause for great joy.” I think God has given Elevate cause for great joy in the last 3 weeks as we have seen Elevate Church take off. As we focus on people and changed lives, I don’t think it will ever get old. Seeing God at work didn’t get old for Nehemiah, although he had seen God at work many, many times throughout his whole story.
