Crazy beautiful week

24 March 2009 312 views One Comment

As you can imagine, there’s loads going on this week due to our Grand Opening. Some thoughts about it:

We’re completely reworking our staging area at River Raisin Centre for the Arts (RRCA) – new screens have to be built, mounted & hung; projectors have to be set up (thanks CedarCreek for the projectors!!!); and sets have to be arranged.

Aaron & Dave are handling all the operations for this week and are doing awesome jobs. Many others are contributing in such valuable ways that it blows me away. Seriously, I’m humbled to be part of this with such a great group.

Saturday from 1 to 3p we’re having a Prayer Gathering at RRCA – stop in and spend as little or as much time with us as you want.  Snacks will be available.

Elevate has amazing people and many of them are helping get the RRCA in tip-top shape for this weekend by painting, building stage sets, audio/video set-up,  prepping the kids area and much more.

Excited about the series that we’re starting this weekend – Wild Goose Chase – it explores the things that cage us in and keep us from pursuing God’s adventure for our lives. It’s based on the book of the same name by author & pastor Mark Batterson.

Ryan Throop & I spent some time at CedarCreek yesterday going over our eleven32 groups (Elevate’s small groups) which kick off  the week of April 19th.  Faith was never meant to be lived out alone. Sign-up in the Main Lobby before or after service. Email Ryan for more info: rthroop@elevate-church.com

Can’t wait for everyone to see what will be center stage to compliment the series opener this weekend!

The Elevate Kids giveaways are in and look great from what I hear (I’ll see one today). In addition to discovering God in fun ways they can understand, each child will walk away with a cool prize.

I can’t believe that this week is our last Launch Team meeting. Our LT has truly done everything short of sin to help see Elevate get off the ground. Let’s keep it up and have a great time together Thursday.

Loads of stuff coming in this week: new banners, extra Bibles, our printed hand-outs, 411 cards, & more.

Mike Trapp runs the RRCA and has been amazing for us these past few weeks. I couldn’t imagine any other place as home for Elevate Church.

Mark Batterson sent some copies of Wild Goose Chase to us for free and thanks to his generosity about 20 people will be getting a free copy at this weekend’s Grand Opening!

All of this to provide an environment where people can take their next step toward God. Hundreds of people will have that opportunity this Sunday and every step toward the Giver of Life is a miracle – and that’s what makes this crazy week so beautiful.
