They just get it
Just got out of a meeting with 2 of the directional pastors at CedarCreek Church in Toldeo.
CedarCreek has made themselves available to us for insight & mentoring as we develop systems and create a culture that helps people from all stages of the spiritual journey connect to God.
These guys are some of the most kingdom minded people I’ve seen in 5+ years of ministry in the U.S. and overseas. And their insight was spot-on too. I was giving them the top 3 challenges we are facing right now and they were just running with it – gave me so much I’ll be processing it for the next week.
When we were looking at budgets, I noticed that what we have allocated for next year is $1,000 less than what they have coming in per week! We’re talking about a mammoth difference in scale – yet not once have they invalidated what we’re doing or treated us as if we’re insignificant. Says a lot about them.
One little nugget that came out of our meeting was the purpose of unity & community. Neither are suppose to be ends in themselves, but are necessary for the mission of God. So we talked about how true community provides healing for people to bring them to a place of health so they can be effective in God’s mission to love the world and find significance for their life.
The folks at CedarCreek just get it.
